This fucking shit is not okay

This fucking shit is not okay. Every day tragedies like this happen. Every. Single. Day. Unfortunately, sometimes they’re a little closer to home than others… and that doesn’t make them any more tragic, but the pain for some may stick a little deeper, as it is for me in this moment. Fuck you CT and your continuation of funding cuts for those who struggle with addiction and mental heath. How the fuck can you put a dollar amount on the value of a human life?! You quite literally are the definition of a human pieces of shit. Some people are just straight scumbags and value nothing more than money. How is this the world we live in? Fucking gutted and disheartened… yet again.

This is so sad. I knew Luke well and watched him struggle for a long time. I’m so sad to see him go, and I will never forget the times I had with him. I will never forget him. I hope he finds the peace that he was never able to find in life. My condolences to his family.

It’s not. It never was. Some people can’t see the world outside of their own world views. Unfortunately when they’re the ones with power or more resources, the rest basically get shat on. I do wish/hope small towns such as ours are addressing the rampant problem and not continuing to look the other way as is often the case. We must continue to work to – as you always quote from Ram Dass – “walk each other home.” There’s a LOT of work to be done. :/

agree; very sad that politicians don’t understand; worse is attorney general under Trump is hard on drug addiction and will put more people into jail and reversing public policy that works in understanding the nature of addiction and substance use. War on drug is war on people; it doesn’t work and put a lot of people in jail instead of rehabilitation.

The thoughts and sentiments are appreciated, but this has nothing to do with me. People suffer every single day with addiction (and of course many, many other things)…. but when it comes to th life threatening nature of addiction, when will we as a society get the fuck over our dogmas and do the right thing, which is to continue breaking stigmas and cultivate compassion for the depth of suffering that so many go through every day. Suffering is rampant in this world, and I don’t mean to take away from that, but this is a form of suffering that in large part, can absolutely be avoided. Just, fuck. Money over life. How is this okay?

Addiction is sad thing. It’s even sadder when we live in a state that continues to cut funding so people can not get the help they need. I personally dropped Luke off to get help and watched him get turned away. It’s fucking sad. I’m thankful for every day that I have now because I know that not everyone makes it out of addiction with their lives.

It’s not. I live with a recovering addict, I get it.
