A little Talmud for our study and consideration: “R. Alexandri said: He who studies the Torah for its own sake (for the love of learning) makes peace in the upper family (angels) and the lower family (men), as it is written, Or let him take hold of my strength (the Torah) that he make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me. Rab said: It is as though he built the heavenly and the earthly Temples, as it is written, ‘I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and layed the foundations of earth, and say unto Zion, thou art my people. R. Johanan said: He shields the whole world from the consequences of its sins, for it is written and I have covered (protected) thee in the shadow of mine hand. Levi said: He also hastens the redemption, as it is written, and say unto Zion, thou art my people..” (Sanhedrin 99b).
We are given great promises according to the understanding and wisdom of our Sages th to those who love learning the Torah. And those who love to learn Torah protects this world from the consequences of sin. I find those words edifying and uplifting. Shalom ve’erev tov chaverim.
