Another puerile argument I am heartily sick of

Another puerile argument I am heartily sick of. “But Labour voted against an Anti-Terrorism Bill”. Eff off. Just because a government stick a particular label on some legislation doesn’t mean it does what it says on the tin, and does not mean that opposition to the detail of the legislation equates to opposing the stated intention of the legislation.
If Party A proposes “The Prevention of Measles Bill” which consists of a plan to eradicate all cats in Cleckheaton, then if Party B votes against the Bill they are voting against the slaughter of cats in Cleckheaton and not voting for Measles. If you can’t understand that you really need to give up having political opinions of any kind, you are not intellectually equipped for it.
When anyone uses that argument please treat them with the utter contempt they deserve.
